From rehearsal dinner to farewell brunch, every moment of Zai & Phil’s wedding weekend took place atop the rolling hills of a 625-acre cattle ranch one hour south of San Francisco. What the property lacked in infrastructure, it made up for in ocean views and possibility. Our task was to build a camp that rivaled the experience of the nearby five-star hotel and throw a celebration that kept every guest (be it a grandparent or friend from Burning Man) thinking back fondly on this party for years to come.
Waking up to a foggy morning, guests made their way to the Goodheart Espresso Bar. Some hiked around the property while others swapped stories in the Airstream sauna or beside the fire pit. Pre-ceremony activities included yoga and Bollywood dance classes lead by Zai’s friends and sister. Their ceremony backdrop was the rolling hills of the property and then guests walked down to the main tent for cocktails, dinner and dancing. Componere Fine Catering’s menu was a modern fresh take on Indian fare, and like all great weddings, the party went late into the night.
Weddings are typically the only time a couple gathers every person who’s important to them, from every stage of life, in one place. We think a lifetime of mingling shouldn’t just happen over cocktails, so Zai & Phil’s camp had endless opportunities for their guests to get to know each other. Turning their wedding into a weekend retreat, allowed Zai & Phil to really relax and soak up time with everyone they care about.
