Shelter CO. is a full scale production company with a focus on outdoor luxury events

Kelsey & Mike Sheofsky
Co-Founders

Kelsey has spent the last 18 years in the luxury event production world.  She started her journey as a destination wedding planner traveling the globe producing high end multi-day events. Her constant battles with location logistics and sub-par hotel options in remote locations led her to the idea of creating a service that could provide luxury accommodations and infrastructure just about anywhere. Mike is an experienced furniture fabricator with a background in construction so his skill set was a welcome addition to this idea. Against everyone’s advice, they decided to go into business together.

Shelter Co. was launched in the spring of 2011 and was pivotal in putting “glamping” on the map in the United States.  Having a unique background in design, event production, and fabrication, they took the trend to the next level and quickly became the go to experts for off the grid luxury.  For the past 12 years Kelsey & Mike have personally forged strong relationships with manufacturing partners around the globe to design and source tents, furnishings and accessories.  These products have been brought to life at over 1000 events across the country.  In 2021 they launched The Get Out, a retail line of tents and outdoor gear to further their consumer reach and allow access to their much loved tents outside of the event world.  The Get Out products can be found at William Sonoma, Food 52, Urban Outfitters, and Nordstrom.  Shelter Co.’s first hotel, River Electric, is slated to open in 2025 in Guerneville, CA. It is the fulfillment of a long held desire to create a permanent space to gather people, host events, and put their own spin on the traditional hotel and event space industry.

The Team

The Shelter Co. Team is comprised of 30+ event producers, installers, designers, fabricators and riggers.  No job is too big or too weird or too far away (we currently only service the continental US but give us a reason to go further!).  We’ve built roads on remote ranches, installed wifi in redwood groves, built open air showers in the middle of the desert, and fed 300 guests for 4 days completely off grid.  Our clients come to us for our fresh take on an often tired industry and our ability to produce events in remote locations while still providing a 5 star guest experience.  Most importantly, we have a lot of fun and genuinely enjoy doing what we do.
