As a California-based outdoor company, we know how important it is to take care of the land we’re lucky enough to call home. We were honored to partner with Futurewell for their 2019 summit at Stemple Creek Ranch, a thousand acre property near Tomales Bay, which is protected through the Marin Agricultural Land Trust.
Futurewell’s mission is “regenerative solutions for a vital future.” In between panels about food, farming, and sustainability, guests were able to take part in yoga classes, get acupuncture treatments, or join guided meditations. After a seated dinner in the barn, people either continued discussions from the day in our lounge areas or headed off to their Shelter Co. tent to rest up for another day of the conference.
It’s not every day you have conversations about climate or our food sources and walk away feeling like tangible solutions are out there, but after listening to speaker panels that included environmentalists like Paul Hawken, sustainable chefs such as Alice Waters, and former US Surgeon General, Regina Benjamin, one guest recounted, “I felt a sense of real hopefulness for the first time in a long time.” It’s a weekend we’ll never forget.
